NWJP’s mission is to support the efforts of low-wage, immigrant and contingent workers, to defend workplace dignity, and to improve their wages and working conditions. Founded in 2002, NWJP has steadily expanded to meet the need for employment-related organizing, legal services, education, and advocacy on behalf of the most vulnerable worker communities in Oregon. We believe that true, long-lasting, and systemic structural changes must come from the very communities affected by injustice. Our goal is for these communities to have the support, guidance, information, and tools they need to be able to confront the issues they face, trust that laws can be made to work in their interest, and effectively use their own voices to ensure their workplaces are safe, their rights are respected and their humanity is honored.
