Volunteer
Activist Committee
IUPAT DC5 members continuously fight to ensure ALL working people have access to a sustainable economic future for their families. The VAC offers DC5 members numerous options for getting involved with our union and communities.
Numerous ways to get involved…
-
Women's Committee
Women have worked in the trades for generations, but remain under-represented in our industry. IUPAT sisters have taken the lead in changing that reality through recruitment & retention efforts, DEI education, and creating safe spaces for empowerment & paths to leadership opportunities.
-
Organizing Efforts
Pickets, rallies, CORE classes, etc. Battle the construction industry’s underground economy, fight to maintain affordable housing, bring public awareness to the harmful impact corporate greed is having on our communities.
-
Political Action
Participate in political activities sponsored by IUPAT DC5: get-out-the-vote & voter registration efforts, lobbying your regions’ legislators, and other efforts to ensure our government works for our members and their families.
-
Fundraising for charity
DC5 sponsors and supports numerous charitable efforts within our communities and the Labor Movement as a whole. Suggest a good cause DC5 members can support and plan an action event or simply donate your time and take part in events that have already been scheduled.
-
Military & Tribal Support
DC5 and IUPAT have numerous programs supporting our nation’s military members and First Nations. Support the work being done to ensure military and tribal families have access to good careers, economic sustainability, and healthy lives.
-
Retiree Activist Committee
IUPAT membership doesn’t come to an end when your years of service to an employer have. Your voice, experience, and union involvement are still critical to ensure future generations of IUPAT members benefit from union protections.
